A Reining Ear

A Reining Ear

Galatians 5:16

Some horses have what their trainers call a “reining ear”. While most horses are guided by a bit in their mouths, a few are directed by verbal command. One ear is sensitive to natural warnings; the other is attuned to the voice of the master.

God teaches you what is right, and every single day you must choose. In order to follow God the flesh must be told “NO”, and the flesh suffers when that happens. You must also understand there may be times when you are galloping full speed ahead in one direction and the Master will tell you to stop and go another way. Like the horse with the “reining ear”, you must be willing to follow the Lord in all His leading. You must learn to say no to self, and yes to God.
