Respect and Honor

8/11

James 1:12

Respect and Honor

When David was just a young man, he was anointed by the prophet Samuel to be the next king of Israel. Not long after that, he defeated the giant Goliath, and he became an instant hero throughout the land. People loved him, and his popularity ratings soared off the charts. But King Saul became extremely jealous of David and tried to kill him. David had to flee to the mountains, going from cave to cave, month after month.

Ironically, David hadn’t done anything wrong. Rather than rebel and take matters into his own hands, David continued to treat Saul with respect and honor. Doing what’s right doesn’t mean it won’t have a cost that goes with it.
