A Fresh Glimpse Of Glory

A Fresh Glimpse Of Glory

Read:   Psalm 145:1-13
I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works.  - Psalm 145:5

Audio:  Psalm 145

Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 6-8; 1 Timothy 5

Every summer, thousands of Good Morning America viewers cast their votes to select "The Most Beautiful Place in America." I was delighted when the winner for 2011 was announced - Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in my home state of Michigan. Admittedly, I didn't expect the winning location to be in my own backyard. It reminded me of the time my wife, Martie, and I visited Niagara Falls. A man nearby watched our tourist behavior and quipped, "Ain't nothin' to it. I see it every day."  How easily we grow accustomed to our surroundings and dulled to things that are familiar - even places and experiences that once brought great delight.

Although God's glory is clearly displayed all around us, sometimes the busyness of everyday life blocks our view. We take for granted His amazing work in our lives. We lose the wonder of the cross. We forget the privilege of being His child. We neglect the pleasure of His presence and miss the beauty of His creation.  I love the psalmist's declaration: "I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works" (Ps. 145:5). Let's take time today to meditate on God's "wondrous works" and get a fresh glimpse of His glory!

For the beauty of each hour
Hill and vale and tree and flower,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise. -Pierpoint

If created things are so utterly lovely, how gloriously beautiful must be He who made them! -Antony of Padua

Talking to God

>
> Talking to God
>
> Read: Psalm 25:1-5
> Jesus said, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." - John 10:27
>
> Audio: Psalm 25
>
> Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 18-19; 2 Timothy 3
>
> I recently conversed with a friend who described her experiences in talking to God. I was powerfully moved when I heard about how she spent hours pouring out her deepest feelings to her Creator. I wanted to know more about her experiences and to find out what I was missing. After several days dwelling on the matter, I took a long drive by myself.
>
> Eventually I turned off the radio and CD player and started to unload feelings that I had bottled up for a long time. I lost track of time, but I must have spent at least an hour talking to God. Although I didn't hear God answer right away, within in a few days I found myself trying to connect to God and listen for God's voice as I prayed. I do hear God's voice inwardly now, a "still small voice" perhaps like what Elijah heard on Mt. Horeb. (1 Kings 19:12)
>
> At 64 years old, I ask myself, How could I have missed this my whole life? I will be eternally grateful to my friend for talking to me about how she prayed. Following her example opened the door to a deeper relationship with God.

In his time...

10/24

In His Time

2 Peter 3:8…. that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.

God moves in His timing, not yours. He is never late, but He is usually not early either. He is often the God of the midnight hour. He sometimes waits until the last second before He gives you what you need. Before He intervenes on your behalf, He has to be sure you are not going to take matters into your own hands and do something out of His perfect timing.

You must learn to trust God's timing. But first, your self-will and your spirit of independence must be broken so that God is free to work His will in your life and circumstances.

If you are waiting for something, set aside your own timetable tonight. Trust God and believe that while you are waiting for your breakthrough, He is doing a good work in you for His purpose.

Submit to Authority

1 Peter 2:13-14

A godly response to those in authority over you provides you with spiritual safety. If you submit to authority for the sake of honoring God and His Word, you will enjoy a free flow of His anointing in your life. If you rebel and refuse to submit, you will block the anointing. Submission protects you from demonic attack, while rebellion opens the door for the enemy.

Live by the anointing. God has given it to you to help you in all that you do. You must remember that things are accomplished by the Spirit of God and not by might nor by power (see Zechariah 4:6). Tonight, stay peaceful and calm; be quick to forgive, slow to anger, patient, and kind. You will find that your anointing will be stronger.

The Apple of His Eye

1 Samuel 2:7

A perfect example of this Scripture is found in the life of Esther. God raised her up out of obscurity to become the queen of the entire land. He gave her favor with everyone she met, including the king. Esther drew upon that favor to save herself and her people from being murdered by the evil Haman, Despite great personal risk, she was not afraid to go to the king and ask him to intervene, because she had favor with God.

Regardless what circumstances come into your life, believe God for supernatural favor. Despite how hopeless things may seem, God can lift you up. If your life is in His hands, the light of the Lord shines upon you. It is time you believe the words of your Father; "You are the apple of MY eye. You are My child." Think about that as you end your day right!

A kind Reward

Luke 6:35…love your enemies, be kind, and do good

Has God ever asked you to do something really special for somebody who hurt you? If so, I am sure that like me you found it very difficult to do. Perhaps you have spent a lot of time in your life blessing someone who never blesses you in return. In that case, do not become bitter but trust God to reward you.

Some of us are a little more naturally disposed toward kindness than others. Many of us find we can be kind to those who are kind to us, but we run into trouble with those we do not think deserve kindness. God delights in being kind to those of us who do not deserve it. Actually, kindness is not even kindness unless it is extended toward the undeserving.

Once and For All

Hebrews 9:12

Under the Old Covenant, the sins of the people were covered, but they were never rid of the consciousness of sin. The blood of bulls and goats could be used for the purification of the body, but it could never reach the inner man and purify his conscience (see Hebrews 10:1-3).

Everything until that time was done to "tide us over", until the fullness of God's time. But when the time came to put into action the plan God had announced in the Garden of Eden, He sent His Son to do the job right. Jesus offered His blood once and for all. This means two things – first, He never has to do it again, and second, it has been done for everyone. You can go to sleep tonight knowing your sins are completely forgiven.

10/29

Freedom and Liberty

2 Corinthians 3:17

Jesus came to set the captives free. You are not free to do whatever you feel like doing, but you have been set free from legalism and are now free to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit. A legalistic mentality says that everybody has to do exactly the same thing, the same way, all the time. But, realize tonight the Spirit of God leads us individually, and often in unique, creative ways.

Jesus wants you to have liberty and not legalism. If the Son has set you free, you are free indeed (see John 8:36). You are free from sin. Free from manipulation and control. Free from competition with others. Free from addiction. Free from fear. Free from selfishness. Free to be who you are. Free! Free! Free!

10/30

Turn Away from Evil

Leviticus 19:31…turn away from those [mediums] who have familiar spirits or to wizards; DO NOT SEEK THEM OUT

This is a serious command! Spiritualism, divination, and witchcraft are all forbidden in the Word of God. Many people, including some who consider themselves to be Christians, participate in practices that God considers vile and evil. God says He will set His face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them (see Leviticus 20:6).  Yet Christians still read horoscopes, consult psychics, and wonder why they do not have peace.

God wants you to seek Him and it offends Him if you seek these other sources. No one who does so will ever have a peaceful, joy-filled, and prosperous life. If you have been involved in any activity of this sort, I strongly encourage you to thoroughly repent, ask God to forgive you, and turn away completely from such practices.

He Still Stands

GOD'S CHOSEN ONE

HE STILL STANDS TALL...Please Share

AND HE STILL STANDS TALL... God’s grace and peace upon this man is my prayer, and I pray that before the end of his term, people’s hearts, minds, and eyes will open. There will never be another like him. May he lead and be guided in the way God would want him to lead and guide. He is not perfect and has never claimed to be. He and this whole country is in need of our prayers. It only takes a spark.
NO President has ever worked this hard for our country. Many wonder, does he ever sleep?? Only God can sustain
such energy, knowledge, and person. Please let us form a powerful prayer chain around our President and his family and ask God to secure it with love, protection, mercy and grace. Amen. Will you please join in this prayer?Let's keep this going! Lord,
We pray for optimum health, mental clarity and political prosperity for President Barack Obama. We pray that what he lacks in political 'experience' you make up for with supernatural wisdom and power.
We also pray that when his enemies come upon him they will stumble and fall; and that your love will fill his heart to the end and that 'Your Will' be done through him.

All you are asked to do is keep this circulating if you are so inclined. May God bless and keep you.

In All Ways And At All Times, God Is With Me

In All Ways And At All Times, God Is With Me

When I have a major decision to make, I do not want to limit myself to my past experience or what I have observed in the lives of others. My soul's potential is beyond what I have experienced or observed. When I yearn for my highest good, I trust in God within to guide me.
I meet God in prayer. Setting aside my own preconceived ideas, I turn within and allow God to reveal the truth to me. I know I have received the guidance I seek when my mind and heart are at peace.
God is the source of my highest good. I trust God to guide and direct my choices. As I open my mind and heart, I receive light, guidance and fulfillment. In all ways and at all times, God is my trusted guide.
