The Spirit of Holiness

A Willing Heart

Exodus 25:1-2

When we talk about a willing heart, we are basically talking about “want to.” Without it we will never do anything.

“Want to “is a powerful thing. With it you can lose weight, keep your house clean, save money, get out of debt, or reach any other goal in life you may have set for yourself. You do not really like to face the fact that your victory or defeat has a lot to do with your “want to”.

We like to blame everything on someone or something else. But you need to sit down and take a good old-fashioned inventory of your “want to”. You need to be honest enough to say, “Lord, I didn’t win the victory because I really didn’t want to.” Tonight, ask the Lord to give you plenty of “want to”.

Satisfy Your Thirst

John 6:35….he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me will never thirst

We all thirst for more of God, but if you do not know He is what you are craving, you can be easily misled. Instead, if you set your mind on seeking God – if you give Him first place in your desires, thoughts and choices – your thirst will truly be quenched and you will not be led astray.

David spoke of this longing for the Lord in Psalm 42:2, saying, “My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God”. You are to search after God like a thirsty man in the desert. What does a thirsty man think about? Nothing but water! He is not concerned about anything else but finding what it takes to quench his thirst. Tonight, God is saying to you, “Here I am, seek Me, I have everything you need.”

The Spirit of Holiness

Romans 1:4

The Holy Spirit is the holiness of God and it is His job to work that holiness in all those who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior. 1 Peter 1:15-16 says: “But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

God would never tell you to be holy without giving you the help you need to make you that way. An unholy spirit could never make you holy. Therefore, God sends His Holy Spirit in to your heart to do a complete and thorough work. Paul tells you that He who began a good work in you is well able to complete it (see Philippians 1:6). The Spirit of Holiness will continue to work in you as long as you are on this earth; He will continually bring you into new levels of victory.

It Is Finished!

Hebrews 10:19-22

Before Jesus died on your behalf, the only way to receive God’s promises was by living a perfect life or by offering a blood sacrifice. When Jesus died and paid for the sins of mankind with His own blood, the curtain of the temple which separated people from the presence of God was torn in two.

When Jesus spoke from the cross saying, “It is finished!” He meant that the system of the law was finished, and now all people can enter freely into the presence of God. Through the blood of Jesus you can draw near to God! Ponder this important truth.

The Divine Order

Divine Order

Read:  Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.  - Ecclesiastes 3:1

I give thanks for answered prayer.

Unity co-founder Myrtle Fillmore often used the words divine order to describe the miracle and mystery of answered prayer. She reminded us that a spiritual power is always at work in our lives, guiding and blessing us, whether we are consciously aware of it or not.

Divine order is at work in my life, although I may not see it directly, just as I cannot see the wind but see evidence of its power as leaves flutter on trees. And, although I cannot physically see divine order, I see evidence of it in the form of answered prayer.

My prayers may not be answered in the way or time I envisioned, but I trust that divine order will manifest as the highest and best outcome for all concerned.

Saved from Sin

Saved from Sin

Hebrews 4:15-16

Sin is a real issue for most people, but sin does not have to be a big problem. Do you know God has already made provision in His Word for your human failures? Most people make a much bigger deal out of these things than God does.

Jesus understands your human frailty because He was tempted in every way we are. Because He is your High Priest, interceding with the Father for you, you can come boldly to God's throne to receive all of His grace, favor, and mercy.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."

(Proverbs 18:24, NIV)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Your destiny is too big to accomplish on your own. That's why it's so important to be connected to the right people. We have to understand that God has already arranged for certain people to speak faith into you. He has already placed people in your path that will inspire you, challenge you, and help you accomplish your dreams. The reason some people never reach their highest potential is because they never get away from the wrong people.

Recognize today that not everyone can go where God is taking you. You've got to connect with people who understand your destiny and can call forth your seeds of greatness. You don't have time to spend on people who are always pushing you down, telling you what you can't do, or never giving you their approval no matter how hard you try. Friend, life is too short to drag people along. If you will get the wrong people out of your life, then God will bring in the right people so you can fulfill the destiny He has in store for you.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, thank You for placing the right people in my life. Help me to discern the right connections You have for me. Give me strength to release the wrong relationships so I have room in my life for the people You have chosen to connect with me in Jesus' name. Amen.

Sorry so late, I had meetings, this morning….There is no time limit for Gods words/vision

Stir Up the Gift

2 Timothy 1:6…...that is why I would remind you to stir up the embers

In your spiritual life, you are either aggressively moving forward or slipping backward. Either you grow or you start to die. There is no such thing as dormant Christianity. It is vital and essential to keep pressing on.

In this passage of Scripture Timothy needed some encouragement. Paul strongly encouraged him to get back on track, remember the call on his life, resist fear, and remember that God had not given him "the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). If you find you are feeling stagnant or slipping back into old patterns of thought and behavior, stir up the gift that is within you tonight and press forward in Him.

Character Tests

Psalm 7:9

Fight Doubt and Unbelief

Romans 4:18, 20

God had promised Abraham an heir from his own body. Despite his advanced years Abraham was still standing in faith, believing what God had said would come to pass. He kept praising and giving glory to God. As he did so, he grew strong in faith.

It would be ridiculous for God to expect you to do something and not give you the ability to do it. Satan knows how dangerous you are with a heart full of faith, so he attacks you with doubt and unbelief. Keep praising God and give Him glory. Faith will rise in your heart and you will overcome.
