Start Where You Are

Start Where You Are

Proverbs 3:28

When God tells you to help someone, it's easy to put it off. You intend to obey God; it is just that you are going to do it later-when you have more money, when you are not so busy, when Christmas is over, when the kids are back in school, or when vacation is over.

There is no point in praying for God to give you money so you can be a blessing to others if you are not being a blessing with what you already have. Satan will try to tell you that you do not have anything to give – but do not believe Him.

Even if it is only small amounts of money, a pack of gum, or a ballpoint pen, start using what you have. As you begin giving, what you have, God will bring increase into your life, and you will be able to give on an even larger scale.

A Spiritual Sabbath

A Spiritual Sabbath

Hebrews 4:11

If you read the entire fourth chapter of the book of Hebrews, you will find it speaking about a Sabbath rest that is available to God's people. Under the Old Covenant, the Sabbath was observed as a day of rest. Under the New Covenant, this Sabbath rest spoken of is a spiritual place of rest. It is the privilege of every believer; you can enter the rest of God.

The only way to enter that rest is through believing. You will forfeit it through unbelief and disobedience. Unbelief will keep you in the wilderness, but Jesus has provided a permanent place of rest that can be inhabited exclusively through living by faith.

Unshakeable Peace...No Regrets...The Right Words

Unshakeable Peace

Philippians 4:7

Even in these confusing and frightening times, God wants you to lead an abundant life. Peace and joy and the other fruits of the Spirit are given to you to draw on all the time. When you work on developing fruit in the good times, you have a reserve for difficult times. Mature Christians know how to draw on the peace that can only come from the Prince of Peace who lives inside them.

As a child of God, you need to know how to be steady and stable no matter what the circumstances. Allow His peace to guard your heart and mind so you are prepared to handle times of crisis when they come.

No Regrets

2 Corinthians 7:10

Regret is running the lives of countless people by stealing their joy. Certainly, you have things you wish you had done differently. But there is no sense becoming burdened with regret over something you have no power to change. You need to understand this is the way the devil works. God will warn you so you can change your mind before you make a mistake, Satan waits until it is too late, when you can no longer do anything about it, and then tries to heap regret and condemnation upon you.

Do not allow Satan to steal from you any longer. Ask God for forgiveness, if you have not already, and leave your regrets in the past.

The Right Words

Genesis 17:5, 15,-16

God gave Abram and Sarah new names that carried significant meaning. Each time their names were called, the future was prophesied: Abraham would be father of a multitude and his princess, Sarah, would be a mother of nations and kings.

Now the right things were spoken over Abram and Sarah. Words proclaimed in the natural realm reached into the realm of the spirit where their miracle was.  Those words came into agreement with God’s Word and called for the miracle God had promised.

Words are containers for power. Carefully watch over your words and walk through life with abundant joy!

An Attitude of Gratitude

Philippians 4:4-6

We all need to develop an “attitude of gratitude. This does not mean we should live pretending nothing negative exists. It simply means we make it our goal in life to be as positive as possible. A positive approach opens the door for God to work.

Go to bed tonight pondering everything you have to be thankful for. Do the same first thing tomorrow morning. Thank God for everything – a convenient parking place; the fact you can walk, see, or hear your children. Do not become discouraged with yourself when you fall short, and do not quit. Keep at it until you have developed new habits.

Don’t Give Up

Don't give up!

Galatians 6:9 KJV

Do you ever feel like giving up? Perhaps you are discouraged about you finances or you are facing problems with you health, your marriage, or your children. Sometimes problems seem so overwhelming that the road ahead seems too steep to climb. We all go through these times. I have wanted to give up and quit many times through the years. But when I realized I had nothing interesting to go back to, I was more determined to keep pressing on.

Even though continuing to move forward is sometimes painful, it is far better than giving up and sliding backwards. God is doing a good work in you so He can do more for you and through you. So ask Him to fill you with holy determination tonight and keep moving in the right direction.
